TEACHER'S CODE OF CONDUCT



KILWA DISTRICT COUNCIL
KIKANDA SECONDARY SCHOOL
OFFENCES AND PUNISHEMENTS TO TEACHERS WHO BREAK THE PROFESSIONAL CODE OF CONDUCT.

OFFENCE
PUNISHMENT
ABSENTEEISM
1.       Less than 5 days


·         Reduction in salary for the number of days not on duty.
2.       More than 5 days and the teacher returns to work

·         Warning
·         Not to be paid for the whole period of absent from duty
·         Reduction in grade
·         Reprimand.
3.       Disappearance from station and not return  till the day authority take disciplinary action
Dismissal from his/her service post without Termination of membership of service.


NEGLIGENCE
1.       Negligence occasioning loss to the employer
·         Recovery of the cost or part of the cost from salary of any loss or breakage caused by his /her default or negligence.
·         reprimand
2.       gross negligence in the performance of the duty
·         stoppage of an increment
·         with  holding of an increment


DRANKARDNESS
Dismissal from his/her post without termination of membership of service.


BAD BEHAVIOR

1.       Rape, Sodomy
Dismissal from his/her service post.
2.       To keep a pupil as a wife or husband
·         Dismissal  from his/her service post
·         Reduction in grade
3.       Adultery
·         Reduction in salary
·         reprimand


EXAMINATION SCANDALS
1.       To open examination envelopes and to show students examination questions

Dismissal from his/her service without termination of membership of service.
2.       To prepare and give students answers for examination questions
Dismissal from his/her service post without termination of membership of the service.


CRIMINAL OFFENCES
1.       Treason

Dismissal from  his/her service
2.       Corruption
Dismissal from his/her service
3.       Forgery
Dismissal from his/her services
4.       Theft
Dismissal from his/her service post without termination of membership of the service
5.       To be detained
Dismissal from his/her service post without termination of membership of service.


INSUBORDINATION
Dismissal from his/her service post without termination of membership of service.
